Hi bill161,
I was on Fosamax for 10 years, from 2002 to 2012, it was being ordered "preventatively" because of very early menopause. A new doctor finally told me that I had to take a holiday. Anyway, I had annual bone scans on Fosamax, which showed that I stayed in the mild osteopenia range. After I went off it, my bone density steadily decreased, and now after 10 years off, I just started back on Fosamax again.
Because I have some esophagus issues, not related to Fosamax, my ENT told me to take Reflux Gourmet, available only on Amazon, with sodium alginate, which is supposed to keep stomach contents in the stomach. It makes me feel full, but other than that, I don't mind taking it, except for the cost - it's very expensive. I see other brands with sodium alginate, which aren't much cheaper. I think it does help with the reflux though. I don't eat for 3 hours before bedtime, take the Reflux Gourmet and drink alkaline water in the evening.
Good luck - I hope you can figure out how to manage the reflux.
