Description
The Prostate Cancer Support Group is an in-person group for Mayo Clinic patients and their caregivers. The group meets monthly on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from noon to 1:30 pm CT.
Each month guest speakers from the Mayo Clinic oncology team provide education on specific topics related to prostate cancer. Following the presentation and Q & A time, members share information and experiences.
In-person space is limited, but all are welcome to participate via Zoom.

1 ReactionYes, I would also like that and hope the zoom link will be posted ahead of time. It would also help if there is someone who is tech savvy to help when the speaker is not comfortable initiating a Zoom connection.

My expertise is in prostate cancer x 40 years, as I believe, Colleen, you know. But what I have found is that the patients' local physician(s) must be open to hearing the views of another MD (such as me) for my time to be helpful to patients on forums. Many, far too many, physicians simply raise their eyebrows at Internet Forums and put the local patient in an awkward position. Whether or not I provided peer-reviewed literature to support any shared viewpoint or have written on the topic myself seems to be tossed out with a shrug and phrase "don't beieve anything you read or hear on the internet."
