← Return to Relapse of symptoms: How long can this go on?

I had Covid in Feb 2020, October 2021, and a huge relapse (or maybe just another case) in Jan 2022. I have healed myself completely from long-haul symptoms. You need supplementation. Everyone does. "Waiting it out" does not work. Exercising and "over-doing it" in any way (even emotionally, or stress wise) will just send you backwards... This is not a typical illness where your body just bounces back once you recover, so a lot of care and rest is needed. Anything to reset and rebalance the nervous system helps (ice baths, hot/cold water therapies etc.)

Your case doesn't sound too, too serve luckily, so as far as supplementation goes, maybe B-3 (niacinamide) would be enough for you. You need 500mg, 2-3x per day. Niacinamide is the pre-cursor for NAD in the body, and NAD is needed for absolutely all biological functions. NAD is totally depleted by Covid. This is why exercising will send you backwards also. Your body is just trying to maintain and you're using up stores of NAD... I also took Taurine and Choline (amino acids) for nervous system repair/health.

And yes, anyone who had mono previously will have EBV in their system. Those of us with EBV are more susceptible to Covid and to long-haul... You don't really need to test for it to know that it's there. But you can eat an anti-inflammatory diet and be sure to check low histamine food lists also, and that helps immensely too. Reducing histamine and inflammation in the body, over the long term, is really key. Plus the supplementation. All the best to you!

The idea of supplements might be a good idea-anything that could help would be encouraging.
