Immunotherapy with Clear Cell Carcinoma- Endometrial

Posted by carla702 @carla702, Nov 10, 2022

I am Stage IV clear cell endometrial carcinoma with metastases to bone. My biopsy results including MMR testing indicated that I am not a strong candidate for immunotherapy (pMMR, normal DNA mismatch). I started on Carbo-Taxol right away. But I have also heard that CC cancer is chemo-resistant. And recent studies say that Keytruda is effective regardless of MMR results.
Has anyone with endometrial cancer had Keytruda/immunotherapy as a first-line treatment or was chemo prescribed first before immunotherapy was offered?

@carla702 I believe fellow members like @miriam57 @rainna @stayinghopeful @m1b1r9 @glenda007 @mnmimi @ejohn may have experience with immunotherapy and metastatic endometrial cancer, in particular with Keytruda and clear cell type of endometrial cancer. They may be able to share if it was given as a first-line treatment after chemo.

Hi @colleenyoung thank you for those references.
I am tolerating chemo fairly well. Anxious to see from PET scan
how effective it has been.

I personally do not have experience with metastatic endometrial cancer and immunotherapy. I wanted to jump in and let you know that you will receive lots of support here in our group. @colleenyoung tagged members of our group who will be offering their stories and support for you.

I'm glad to know you are tolerating the chemo fairly well. When is your next infusion and when will you have the PET scan?

Hello- I am also battling clear cell endometrial cancer and had a terrible reaction to Taxol. I have heard that CC is somewhat chemo-resistant as well. I am trying to find out more info about CC and Keytruda but there is limited info about this type of cancer so it does get frustrating. Take care-

Hi, I too am battling clear cell endometrial cancer. I'm 68 living in Henderson, NV. Had radical hysterectomy in March 22, followed by Taxol chemo. The cancer spread during chemo. I then started Keytruda and Lenvima. Pet scan after 5 treatments finally showed really good results. Unfortunately, I began having skin blisters and so Keytruda was stopped until it cleared up. After 2 more treatments, my Pet Scan showed I metastasized all over the place: lung and bone. I've now consulted with a new oncologist for a second opinion. He wants to put me back on Keytruda and Lenvima this week. He says that my treatment is not curative. I will restart the Keytruda/Lenvima this Thursday. I believe that Keytruda is only given after traditional chemo has failed.

I restarted Keytruda/Lenvima last Thursday, the 14th. The next day, I had an outbreak of red blotches on my upper arms and lower legs. I took Benadryl and applied a steroid cream I had been given by my dermatologist. These two are working to keep my skin reactions under control. I'm so relieved. I'm also working with a nutritionist on a healthy diet.

@paula21 This sounds promising. How are you feeling today?

I feel fine. I have a little fatigue but this could also be the new diet.
