I think a GI dietician may be able to help you.
Do you mean incomplete bowel movements or what exactly?
Very bloated. Have watermelon belly. No pain. Constipated since birth. Take Senokat. Have achalasia
so I eat semi-soft, high carb diet. Anyone have any thoughts.
Hi petuniamom, have you ever had a bowel transit study done? The x-rays after a week of eating normally ( I've been on soft foods only for past few years) taking capsules with tiny radiopaque markers as per instructions, and no laxatives, was the tell all for me! Only 1 tiny marker out of 66 made it past my splenic flexure!
I learnt where my obstruction is, that I have an abnormally long colon - also known as redundant/elongated/tortured colon.
In my case I've had 3 decades of terrible pain and become housebound.
IMO a Bowel Transit Study should be the first step in investigating chronic constipation. It's an easy, inexpensive and non invasive test.
I'm currently taking Molaxole everyday and now down to one Bisacodyl tablet every few days for my constipation. My upper GI is in bad shape also and I can't stomach tablets very well.
