Does sharing a pathology report before a genetic test help a sibling

@bens1, up until recently, it was thought that prostate cancer was not hereditary. A small percentage of prostate cancers are hereditary and occur in families. These hereditary cancers are associated with inherited gene variants. Hereditary prostate cancers tend to develop earlier in life than non-inherited (sporadic) cases.

Was genetic testing performed on your biopsy?

I asked my urologist for Prolaris and Précis genetic tests from Myriad before the biopsy but he wanted to wait until the biopsy and appointment in 3 weeks. I requested my pathology report as soon as it is available to pass on to my older children's doctors, in case it helped and to use it for a second opinion for me.

By the way, I was under the impression that the odds of mychildren getting prostate cancer because my brother has it goes up dramatically.

Along those lines, if I am going to use a specific machine for radiation in my area, is it possible to have a remote based radiation oncologist from a center of excellence manage the local cancer team effectively? For example, they pick the local oncologist or even a local radiation oncologist. I have more than one choice of Dr's for the team.
