I am in treatment for esophageal cancer. Have undergone around 10 rounds of chemo using the Folfox regimen. Was walking around four miles a day before the diagnosis, and I am up to four miles per day now. Also starting to lift some weights.
That is wonderful to hear. I’m not sure I’m using the site properly however, my husband was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer adeno carcinoma stage four. We are trying the trial program that started from 2018 to 2020 and I was wondering if anybody else is doing the same program. It was recommended to me by the Cancer Commons group and also our oncologist. We are using the third type of chemo added on the 14 days on and seven days off program and I was reaching out to see if anyone else had done this.
as I said before, I’m not sure I’m properly using this website. If not, please feel free to let me know.
There is a CAR-T trial at Mayo. Issue is that there is only a 10% likelihood that I would qualify and there is the risk that the biopsy of the original tumor would be depleted, making future trials unavailable (standard warning). Also informed by my Northwestern (hospital treating me) oncologist of two potential trials at U of C, which is much closer as I live in Chicago. Interview later in November with U of C. Keeping fingers crossed.
Welcome @staphil. You posted perfectly.
Can you tell me more about the trial that your husband is doing? Is this being done at Mayo Clinic?
