Surgery now or wait a couple months
Had a pet scan had a node to light up only about 2 cm surgeon said it is so small might not be able to find because of so much scar tissue from past surgeries need opinion as to wait a couple months or let them try to find it an take out now. They don’t know if it’s cancer or not

Hi @jeff1957, I can imagine the reaction of "just get it out". But this may be a case of needing more information before making a decision. Where is the lymph node located? Is the surgeon suggesting that it is too small to do a lymph node biopsy?
Is in mesentric is a nodule not node Surgeon did say only about 2 cm have the size of her pinky
Finger nail and she might not be able to find it
Does anyone have an opinion as to what I should do or what you would do if it were you with this decision to make
Jeff, it sounds like you might consider getting a second opinion from another medical professional. Based on the information you've shared, I don't think anyone could knowledgeably give their opinion of what they would do. Have you thought of getting a second opinion?
I did get a second opinion and they said waiting 1 extra month was reasonable
I'm glad you got a second opinion that confirmed the first assessment. I know that waiting can be unsettling. But you can take confidence in your diligence in following up. It might also help to reassure you that it may be something benign (non-cancerous) and if it is cancerouse, colon and rectal cancers grow slowly over many years.
