I have an immune deficiency, Grover’s and also joint inflammation. I’m 76 but very independent and have always kept up with flu & pneumonia vaccines. Since Covid I have kept up with those also including the latest along with the flu shot a few weeks ago. From my own experience I have not had any worse inflammation than I normally have. My sister who has rheumatoid arthritis was told be her doc to get the Covid and she’s doing fine. Personally I’d get the vaccines…

This is a question for your provider - those of us on Connect are fellow travelers on our own medical journeys, not medical professionals, so we do not interpret test results or give medical advice. At best we can share our own experiences.

I have an over-reactive inflammatory system. Every vaccine gives me a flare, but I get them because I also have lung problems. A respiratory infection like the flu, or Covid would have potentially dire consequences for me. So I put up with injection reactions in hopes of avoiding worse illnesses. Occasionally, the reactions have been bad enough to require a course of steroids, for me that is a tolerable risk compared to becoming ill.
