John, I am a caregiver who cares for someone very close to me. The PN started after surgeries to replace knees. Since then, over 15 years, I have researched and tried literally everything. There are things that help with the pain but nothing provides satisfactory relief. Been to numerous Neurologists, m.d.'s who supposedly specialize in PN but nothing new was suggested. I'd suggest using Tens, a spikey ball rolled under the feet and nsaids. This coupled with walking is our current regimine.

I just came across an article in Muscle & Nerve, Vol. 34 Issue 6 December 2006 which reports a study with patients on a gluten free diet. The authors are MD’s. It was a small study but worth publishing.
