@keertana- Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect!
Im sorry that you can’t take your Lupus medication while you are on Rifampin. Rifampin is a powerful drug for some serious infections.
I’m curious- how come you were diagnosed with Latent TB?
Here is a link to Mayo Clinic’s information on Rifampin and its side effects. It does cover some skin conditions, but not specifically darkening of the skin. You can ask your physician if anything like this has been recorded.
I was once treated with INH for 6 months for a positive Tb test. I was on chemo at the time- it was precautionary in order to avoid acute Tb infection.

Hello and thanks for the link. I had what looked like a mosquito bite or insect bite just above my inner ankle and I put some soothing lotion on it. Initially i didn't think much of it because I walk my dog a few times a day every day and thought that was it. Until my ankle swelled up and also the "bite" site got really red and turned blue & increased to the size of a grape. It was very painful and felt hot to the touch. My dermatologist said it looked like TB and had me do a blood test for TB which showed latent TB. Since I live in Texas she said that her concern was that I may have come in contact with someone who had TB ( per the doctor all the people crossing over the border etc there were a lot of cases of TB being detected in Texas ) and to keep me safe as I have Lupus already the best option would be to take this course as a preventative measure. I have never had anything like this " bite" before so this did throw me for a loop. Scared the heck out of me for sure. Also, just to be clear I had NO other symptoms of TB and the chest X rays/cet scans were all clear as well.
