Recovery was great. They put a block in my shoulder that lasted 5 days and after that I took Tylenol or Advil.
Not sure about your other question about the conditions.
My rotator cuff was not repairable so reverse was the option

Thanks! The rotator cuff problem answered my questions about when a reverse TSR is done. Good to know about the block as well. Did you have to sleep on your back?
I am completely satisfied with my rTSR. I am now a year out from surgery, but I think I was at current full range by about 3 months. I had good PT and went for about 8-10 weeks, at 3x a week to start, then down to 2x and finally 1x for the last couple of weeks. I have no issues with normal daily movement, and no pain. Not even aware I have an implant. My reach is top shelf cupboard worthy. The difference is when reaching behind my back from the waist, I can't cock my elbow very well without bracing it against my back, so can't scrub my back in the shower. Throwing a ball overhand is possible but rather weak for me, the snap is not there. Don't know if it would get better with more work on it. I did strain some muscles or ligaments this summer doing too intensive dragging of heavy garden pots and hoses just as before surgery, but the pain resolved itself after a few weeks.

I appreciate reading of your experience as I am about to have rTSR. Could you speak to your experience during the weeks after surgery and before PT, please. I live alone and am trying to anticipate how much support I will need given my dominant arm will be in a sling. Pain level, does your hand move at all, what is most important for the best outcome? other? Thank you.

With the nerve block my hand did not move until the block wore off (5 days). I did have help with getting ready to bathe. I had to wear my brace for 3 weeks. After the 5 day block I only took Tylenol or Advil for pain. Started PT at 3 weeks.

Thanks for the responses. My surgeon told me that he does not believe that I have rotator cuff issues, but still believes that RTSR might be my best option. He will make the decision about which type of surgery he will recommend after CT scan.
My preference if given the option would be TSR as opposed to rTSR. I believe that I would prefer the greater ROM and avoiding the need to use the deltoid to power the shoulder.
Any input would be appreciated.
Very happy. Do I have full range? No but I can do almost anything I did before
How was the recovery? Thanks. Also under what conditions is a reverse SR done?

I did sleep in a recliner for about 3 weeks to keep from rolling over on my shoulder. Started therapy at 3 weeks and the sling / brace was gone.

Thank you 681. That's an amazing recovery. Well done! Joe
