What is Stapedectomy Recovery like?

I was awake but they could’ve amputated an arm and I couldn’t have done anything about it; I think it’s called twilight sleep. It wasn’t bad and it was interesting to see what was going on.

I just now realized I can ‘hear’ myself. I hadn’t been talking but I just called my mother to give her update and now I have a total headache because I’m so loud. Things to get used to.

Being on the left side, one hears more traffic when driving.
And have you lowered the TV????

I just had second stapendectomy piston replacement in my right ear.
My voice is super loud to myself inside my head. Cannot hear out of right ear due to packing and blood patch.
It’s not my left ear it’s my right I just had surgery on. Going to ask doc about it. He did use a smaller piston in my right ear versus left.
Left ear was 12 22 and still has popping of what I think is how ear drum healed?. But can hear things I haven’t been able too in years!
