I am 65 and was diagnosed with SFN in June 2018 by Mayo Rochester. Initially I had burning sensation with some pain at the bottom of my feet. I had to take early retirement from UNICEF. It may be funny for some members to know that while I remained uncomfortable walking, I was able to jog daily for a minimum of 8 kilometers despite progressive deterioration. I continued with jogging for 4 years without missing a single day. However my neuropathy gotten so bad over the last few months that I had to discontinue my daily jogging routine. The situation now is that I cannot even go from my bed to the bathroom. I have tried all kind of remedies including changes in diet with extended intermittent fasting but with no positive outcome. I have been experiencing severe numbness with a lot of other weired sensation. My feet feel squeezed and slippery with burning pain and numbness sensation as if there is a rubber strap/band attached to my feet with 4 strong men are pulling it in different directions and I am walking on a heap of hot wax mixed with red chillies. I am wondering whether members have experienced such sensation and what remedy have they applied to get some relief.

I'm wondering if you have seen any of the complementary and alternative treatments on the Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy's website here - https://www.foundationforpn.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Complementary-and-Alternative-Treatments-Revised-2020-final.-1.pdf

You mentioned having tried a lot of things, have you done any research into alternative treatments?
