Hello. Im new to this forum, but I was wondering how and who tested you for POTS. I am trying to figure out if it is that or long covid causing my internal tremors. I am seeing a functional med dr. and we have discovered I have a huge viral load in my body from shingles & EBV. These viruses may have attacked my nervous system and kickstarted this whole mess. Just trying to at least eliminate any possible options other than long covid.

Hi there. Well, I’m not a medical professional but I can share a few things that I’ve learned so far. From what I understand, those of us who already have Epstein Barr in our system may be more susceptible to long-haul Covid. EBV is a very common virus but some people have more viral load than others. POTS is often caused by long-haul but there are other reasons someone may have it. I had a cardiac specialist check mine but ultimately it was a very simple test that I probably could have done at home.

The nervous system can be overstimulated for any number of reasons. My personal theory is that my immune system was severely depleted, and my nervous system was already totally overwhelmed due to ongoing work stress and long term emotional trauma, plus I know I have EBV (from a case of mono years ago). In my case, it was the perfect storm to make me susceptible to long haul Covid. Treating the nervous system does wonders. I hope this helps!
