@momsanurse, it sounds like you're afraid that the symptoms you are experiencing may be renal cancer. It's understandable that your mind would race there having lost your mom to kidney cancer. Keep in mind that the symptoms you're experiencing may indicate any number of issues. It's clear that they require further investigation and your physician is doing that.

As you continue to investigate the cause with your doctor, I might suggest keeping a diary of your symptoms, take note of which ones you're having when, how severe they are and the time of day and/or what activity you were doing or what you ate. This information may prove to be helpful.

Have you already had blood work done? When will you have the ultrasound appointment?

Thank you for responding! My BUN, Creatinine and Egfr are all normal as of 2 months ago. My Ultrasound appts are at the end of this month. I have kept notes regarding this "ache" and "fullness/heaviness." I kept a daily diary with my Mother. The first day I wrote, "Mama is complaining of a persistent achiness in her right side/back area." She NEVER complained about anything. I am unable to sleep on my right side because the ache awakens me. When I turn onto my left side, I sense a fullness/heaviness pulling on my right side.
