Who else is HER2 positive?

I was diagnosed with stage 3B HER2 positive breast cancer last year these days. I did mastectomy and found a 4cm tumor and removed 21 lymph nodes (9 of them were affected), I was very lucky and I kept the nipple. Then I did chemotherapy weekly (for 22 weeks), alongside I did immunotherapy with trastuzumab+pertuzumab. After all of these I had radiation therapy every day for 25 sessions and now continuing with immunotherapy (every 3 weeks) till is a full year since I begun. I've been doing every 3 months examinations (mostly mammograms, ultra sounds in the abdoment and breasts and chest), every 6 months we add a brain MRI and CT scans of the abdomen and a bone density measurement. So far my examinations are cancer free!!! I've been struggling with anxiety, depression and insomnia since last February. But with a little help from my friend Chemistry I'm better (antidepressants and other)! I realised that my case was serious and that I had to fight with all my heart and brain! I can say now that I am very optimistic and believe that I will be a positive case and cancer free for the years to come! I have a lot of things to do in life and I will do all of them!!! I was diagnosed almost four years ago with triple positive breast cancer.

I had chemo, H/P, lumpectomy, radiation and now on Arimidex I’m doing very well three years later.

Having Her2+ is not the diagnosis it once was. Herceptin and Perjeta are miracle drugs. ♥️🙏♥️

I was diagnosed as HER2+ at first, then two other hospitals got equivocal then negative by further FISH testing. I was troubled and saw another doc who tested more cells (60 instead of 20) and got a negative but it was close to the line for positive. My tumor was mixed and ductal part was HER2+, lobular part was negative. I still worry!

During that time, I was also told that Herceptin and Perjeta were miracle drugs and that people with HER2+ were doing well. The treatment isn't easy but is hopefully reassuring. Good luck!

I was diagnosed with HER 2 in June of 2021, stage 2. I was treated with Pacitaxol and Herceptin and Perjeta for 12 weeks followed by a mastectomy and 19 radiation sessions. Because there was a small amount of cancer left in the removed breast tissue, I had 14 infusions of Kadcyla (every 3 weeks). I'm finished with treatment, my port is out and C T scan showed no cancer present. I know that my positive attitude and support from friends and family got me through the dark times. I tried to laugh every day even through the treatments. I was able to continue eating well (extra protein) and walk. Walking was my mental therapy. I have met many wonderful strong women in my support group. We can do this!

I end chemo and radiation a year ago. I had a lumpectomy and 2 lymph nodes removed.. I'm 81 and doing well. I have to get a mammogram soon, but my surgeon said I don't need to come in for a visit until a year from now. I see the oncologist every 4months. I read an oncologist said that if she got breast cancer HERpositive would be the "best" kind to have because it can be targeted with Herceptin.

Thank you! Your journey seems similar to mine with same treatment. I wish you and all to continue be cancer free. I had positive lymph nodes left when they removed them thus will be doing 14 cycles of TDM1. I meet with radiation dr next week to go over treatment plan.

I had HER2 positive in the right breast, twelve cancerous lymph nodes and hormone positive in the left breast concurrently, in 2015-2016. The hormone positive is still giving me trouble by metastasizing to the liver. The HER2 was treated with the miracle drugs by chemo. I had NO RADIATION and did not take cancer drugs after that until reoccurrance of the hormone positive in the left side. So far so good.

For the Her2 positive breast did you have taxol, Herceptin and perjeta followed by a lumpectomy but no radiation or Herceptin after surgery?

It was in the middle of chemo of all those as well as chemo treatment for the hormone positive cancer in the left breast. I began chemo in July 2015, had bi-lateral breast surgery in December 2015 and finished with the chemo in August 2016. To repeat, I have had no recurrence of the HER2. However, the chemo never completely cleared away the cancer in the left breast which metastasized to the liver. The lesions have been removed by microwave ablation and I am in a really good place.
