What Are You Taking Besides Gabapentin for nerve pain?

Thanks for sharing what you are taking besides Gabapentin and/or Alpha-Lipoic Acid for nerve pain.

Any time the pain gets so bad that I'm on the verge of tears (daily), I take Rx 0:1 THC only (10mg) gummy. It helps tremendously, but I really hope I do not have to continue with this course of Rx treatment for the rest of my life. (No, it does not make me feel "high"). This is doctor-prescribed which has to be hand-delivered to my home (they make a 2-hr drive from Austin) and must be signed for by me w/ID. The pharmacy is called Texas Original, and my doctor there is Dr. Brimberry, in case you might want to set up a consultation (private-pay appointments only; insurance is not accepted).

@txsongbird, While we wait for others to share what they take besides gabapentin for neuropathy nerve pain I thought I would share the fairly comprehensive list of treatments that people have found helpful on the Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy's website here - https://www.foundationforpn.org/treatments/.

Also, there is another discussion where members, including myself, have shared what has helped them with their neuropathy.

See my post about Tegretol (carbamazepine). The reduction in all my neuropathy symptoms has been astonishing. I read about it in a research article and my neurologist was happy to try it.

In addition to 50 mg of Gabapentin, I take one gummy a day which consists of 25 mg of CBD plus 2.5 mg of THC. I also take 3 mg of LDN. These are my evening cocktail. I sleep well and the neuropathy seems relatively under control. I buy the CBD/THC online from a site that was recommended to a friend by a psychiatrist she sees. Additionally, I walk 0.5 miles every day after doing stretching exercised which focus mainly on my legs. I am planning to slowly try additional exercise in the gym and hope that I can strengthen my muscles and see if that helps.

I take gabapentin. I try to take as little as possible. It works but it knocks me out no matter how little of a dosis I take.
I have always been this way even tylenol knocks me out.

I take gabapentin. I dislike Diclofenac. It hurts my insides.

In case some of you don't know what LDN is. It stands fro Low Dose Naltrexone. Naltrexone is FDA approved and has been used for a long time to help people who are trying to get off something they are addicted to. Doctors, however, have discovered that Naltrexone in low dosages can be helpful in helping relieve many symptoms in many illnesses. It is not FDA approved for these uses. However, there is a not-for-profit organization in the UK called the LDN Research Trust that is doing research and has a website that may be helpful if you want to learn about it. It is prescribed for me by a pain management doctor. My other doctors know nothing about it and my rheumatologist refused to prescribe it. I think it is helpful. Pharmaceutical companies are not interested in it because it is not expensive enough for them to feel that it is worthwhile to do large studies and try to get it approved by the FDA. So be it.
