Morning, over a year ago I also had NM emptying test and passed. A little over a year later I did Smart Pill Study and failed severely. The pill stayed in my stomach 17 hours and delayed in small intestine and large as well. I already had severe colon motility and was suppose to have a total colectomy.
I needed to pass NM test to have the surgery which I did. I had scrambled eggs meal. I decided against the surgery. Now, a year later I’m diagnosed with gastroparisis along with my motility issue I already had.
So, how did I pass NM with flying colors and severely fail Smart Pill Study. I’ve done nothing differently. I eat same foods all day every day. I stopped all meds associated with constipation. The only thing different, I received two Covid vaccines to prepare for total colectomy which I just could not follow through with. It’s a good thing, because, had I and now developed gastroparisis I would be a mess. Absolutely no answers as to why this occurred. I just continue to eat no sugar, no dairy, no gluten. I can digest egg whites some days and occasionally white bread. Once you adjust to foods that work, life will get better but it is forever a rollercoaster.
All the best to all…Joanne

Thank you so much. Trying to adjust to foods that work and have quit drinking coffee too. Appreciate the insight.
