Osteoporosis and high calcium levels

Hello Heusty,
I'm interested in learning more about your situation, if you're willing to share. I have severe osteoporosis (-4.4, -4.5 to -5.2 numbers). When tested by an endocrinologist, my calcium was right at the top of the range and parathyroid numbers were 12 points above "standard range." My endocrinologist did not view this as Hyperparathyroidism. It's my understanding from experts that this result is bad because these numbers were both high at the same time.
Seeking a second opinion, I discussed these results with an endocrine surgeon and he retested me. Based on the results of all tests, he "offered" surgery for my "very mild Hyperparathyroidism" because of my severe osteoporosis. I have been struggling with the surgery decision and the decision to take anabolic drugs for a year while my bones likely get worse. While I am not comfortable having the surgery, I understand it improves bone density. I would still need to take anabolic drugs, which some believe are more effective than having the surgery. So confusing and scary. I'm about to throw in the towel and just take Evenity and hope for the best.
Thoughts?

Again, there is a poster on the Inspire osteoporosis forum who knows a lot about this and can also refer to a specialist. @kolika seems to be a good resource too!

A short background on me. I’m 72, I’ve been on Prolia for 3 years and my scores have improved a bit. I was late on one shot and ended up with 3 compressed fractures of my spine. Very painful. My 24 hour urine calcium score was 503. It has always been quite high since it’s been tested. Blood calcium was 5.9. Both calcium and parathyroid levels are high My t scores are spine -3.1 hip -2.2. So my hip is actually not bad. Those were from 6 months ago. I have blood work to be done next week also. And an appointment with the surgeon in a few weeks. My endocrinologist suggested parathyroid surgery the last couple of years, but I’m still not sure.
