Hi
I have severe poly neuropathy w/ all th horrible symptoms.
I use a magnesium blend.
Source naturals. 800-2000mg / day.
I Also applied topically twice a day magnesium oil with lotion head to toe had the most remarkable help, By itself.
I 've had neuropathy in my feet since i had chemo for breast cancer. My oncologist at the time told me to take magnesium L-threonate. I bought some on Amazon. I had stopped taking it because it gave me diarrhea. I figured I'd try again. I have had some diarrhea, but I figured I'd just treat the diarrhea and use the magnesium. A few days ago, I noticed I had feeling in my afflicted left hand again. Last night I got out of the shower , walked to my room and felt something was odd. I realized I was feeling the cushiness and texture of the carpet under my feet! My big hope is maybe I will improve enough to drive again. I'll be 81 in October.
I also have been using the new VoxxLife patches for my balance and they definitely help.
Plus, I started taking liquid quinine and my leg cramps completely stopped. Before they affected me sitting, bending and trying to sleep. I'm a a retired RN and I love researching ways to "fix" myself.
raebaby thank you for your suggestion. I will try some of the magnesium. Can you tell me what strength you take and how often you take it. Appreciate it see connect and I appreciate you!

I am taking it twice a day, though it suggests taking 4 times a day. 2000mg is in 4 pills. So, I am getting 1000 mg. I would like to take more but am afraid of diarrhea. I got it on Amazon Double Wood Brand Magnesium L-Threonate. I'd like to have you let me know if it helps you, Good luck!
Thanks for this great list, John, I’ve been working on several of them, and it’s an awesome checklist of things to try.
Any reason why cannabis isn’t included? Apart from it being illegal on a federal basis, I mean… some states have legalized it, and it’s certainly something that I get great relief with.

I had some Magnesium complex citrate blend by Nature Made on hand so I took two capsules, 500 mg, and my feet that have been cold all day are now so warm I’m going to have to takeoff my slippers. Hope this might be of interest to any of you PN patients out there. bcool123
Hi @runnergirl, I take magnesium 400mg daily as part of my supplements. I'm not familiar with magnesium infusions but have read information that they are helpful for chronic pain which I think would include idiopathic neuropathy since it could fall under the umbrella of chronic pain. I was not able to find other members discussing magnesium infusions for neuropathy but hopefully some who my have tried it will share their experience. Here's some information I found that may be helpful.
John - I' ve been taking Nature Brand magnesium 500 mg daily for about 2 years and haven't noticed any difference. My primary doc suggests I take mag daily. Did you notice a reduction in pain or numbness?
Awesome, thank you!

I've not had any luck with cannabis helping my numbness. My son grows it legally and I have all I could ever want. It's a shame it doesn't help me.

John, what brand, type and dose of magnesium are you taking? Thanks for all of your help.Bcool123
@bcool123 - The one I take that comes with the Protocol 525 is Bluebonnet Nutrition Albion Chelated Magnesium - https://www.amazon.com/Bluebonnet-Nutrition-Albion-Chelated-Magnesium/dp/B00ZWQO0LC/ref=sr_1_17
I took this one before we switched to the Bluebonnet brand and I think they are probably pretty much the same quality - https://www.amazon.com/Chelated-Magnesium-Glycinate-200mg-Supplement/dp/B01IU9JBW0/ref=sr_1_24
Thank you so much. I will order some.bcool123
