Sue, are you clear of NTM? Do you get bronchitis often and why?
Does wearing a mask when with others help in limiting the exacerbations?
I’m afraid of getting exposed to people other than my family members I live with. My biggest fear is catching a respiratory infection on top of MAC. I thank the pandemic for teaching us to wear masks and for people not to question.

As far as I know, if I still have MAC, it is subclinical. I quit antibiotics ww months ago while still positive, but lungs are stable. I see the doc next week. I have bronchiectasis, asthma, reactive airways and allergies, hence my susceptibility to bronchitis. I have lived with it for so long that I don't spend much time worrying about it, but do wear a mask quite often indoors. I go by a mental formula for how long, how close, and how much airflow. So I wear a mask in church where we are elbow to elbow for over an hour, at PT where I am in close proximity to the therapist for an hour, in a theater, in a crowded store. But not in wide open malls where I am passing through, at a drive through or during other incidental contact. We wear masks if our grandsons are ill and we care for them. Every exacerbation has come from a virus I picked up from my kids or grandkids. (Unmasked) Among people here I am probably less isolated than most, but most of our friends and family are very good about staying home and canceling social plans when the least bit ill.
