Calcium, D3, K2, Mg, tai chi, long walks and, after painful and debilitating fractures, Tymlos. This medication has worked miracles on my stamina and strength, but have not yet had DEXA post-treatment. I started at a low dose of two clicks out of 8 and moved up to 7, and it has been a year. Side effects go away after awhile.

The problem with osteoporosis is that we feel fine- until we fracture. So denial is easy. I hope folks will consider bone building meds (Forteo, Tymlos, Evenity) when DEXA score are severe or fractures have occurred.

For those who are not yet at high risk, I recommend Keith McCormick's book "The Whole Body Approach to Osteoporosis." Note that he himself did meds before maintaining and last time I was on Lani Simpson's FB she was also considering meds. Sometimes that time comes when meds are the only way to avoid disability and pain from fractures.

I am taking Calcium with D3 but can’t find the K2. My aunt, retired nurse, recommended this for my mother and I. I thought it was all one pill. The Calcium D3 is but I can’t find the K2. I am in SC also very close to stores in NC. Do you have any recommendations for finding it? Thank you. I’m overdue for a DEXA scan and to be honest, scared to find out what it says.
