I was diagnosed with dvt/pe in both lungs in November in 2021. I was in the hospital for almost 2weeks on I’ve medication. I was released on elequis 5mg. The keep sending or calling an ambulance because of chest pain. It’s because of the chest wall pain damage from dvt/pe.
I woke up this morning with with my right knee swollen and hurting and in my right calf also. It started starting stinging up the side of my leg this evening.
I’m scared and don’t know what to do

I am far from being a doctor but can only tell you of my experience with a DVT. Last year, my right foot was swollen and eventually became a DVT diagnosed by ultrasound, and put on a blood thiner. My care was under a vascular surgeon as well as my PCP. My care lasted 3 months before I stopped the blood thinner medication.

This area of the forum is for kidney issues, and there may be an issue with your kidneys as well. I honestly would refer you to a vascular surgeon or cardiologist first for your swelling issues. If you believe your kidneys are also impared, I would talk with your kidney NP or nephrologist where either can measure for kidney function. If waiting is a concern, go to your PCP so he/she can order a blood test to measure kidney function and check your creatinine levels.

@kbrowne this discussion is primarily about chronic kidney disease (CKD) in the Kidney & Bladder group. You mentioned dvt ( deep vein thrombosis?) and pe (pulmonary embolism?). Oftentimes abbreviations are unclear unless the full word or phrase is used first. You also mentioned chest pain (which can be REALLY serious & scary). It sounds like you may need a specialist. Hopefully you can get to the area or specialty you need. Sometimes there is overlap between conditions and the necessary specialty. Unfortunately this just confuses things. Generally speaking heart (chest) is cardiology, veins & arteries are vascular, pulmonary refers to lungs. My hope and prayer for you is to get the care you need.
