Neuropathy: Does your pain increase when the weather changes?
I have neuropathy in both of my feet. This is probably a strange question, but has anyone else noticed that their pain increase when the weather changes? I live in Florida and we are having storms coming in and I really think just as the storm is about to hit, my feet ramp up.

Good afternoon @bvw. I am so glad you posted what is actually not a strange question. And I think there is an answer....."Barometric Pressure. I suspected that something other than rain or snow was actually affecting my level of pain and discomfort. Amazingly, I found out that pressure has a great deal to do with neuropathic pain. I even started a chart indicating when my neuropathic pain rose and its relationship to barometric pressure. Give it a try......see if there is a pattern. Then you can prepare for the extra pain when the weatherperson announces an upcoming storm.
Hope this is an answer for you. How do I adjust my medications??? I simply switch my medical cannabis dosage to a higher THC dosage, e.g. from 2:1 CBD/THC to 1:1 CBD/THC. That seems to be helpful for me.
How kong have you been faced with neuropathy pain? Has it been diagnosed?

Thank you for your reply. I was diagnosed last in November 2021. It is part of my Long Covid that I am dealing witih.

Barometric pressure discovered all about this pressure living in South Florida due to migraines and chronic pain. I prepare by having necessary meds for migraines available. Salonpass ointment and their lidocaine patches work well. I also have neuropathy in left lower leg. No pain yet. Hope this help.
Aging isn’t for sissies
I live in Missouri and it is getting colder each day. I find that my pain level stays higher now from about 4 to 5/6. I have only had PN for about 4 months so I am new to this. I feel like it something we should know if it effects those with PN. Also I am sleeping less and I really don't know why. I am now able to sleep 4 hours at night. Naps in the day raise my pain level for hours after 1 hour of "sleep". Any suggestions on sleeping more at night would be appreciated also.

Have you done any research for alternative treatments that might help?
PN I assume is peripheral neuropathy. I have CRPS and weather brings on less sleep, increased pain and sensitivity, and winter is the worst, historically.
I am extremely sensitive to cold, whether it’s from the seasons or inside temperatures. I had to check out of an ER once because the pain from the extreme air conditioning cold after waiting a few hours was worse than what I went there for. I have to really watch my car heat and air year round. So winter is definitely worse. I keep gloves in all jacket pockets, and a bag of socks, gloves, and scarf stay in my car so I have extra warmth when needed. Extreme heat is uncomfortable too, but I wouldn’t describe it as the intense, internal pain I get from feeling frigid. Gabapentin has helped me tolerate the cold and heat extremes better, but I try to avoid being exposed for too long, as it takes a while for my body to recover.
I also use THC gummies and I get a lot of relief. Helps me sleep also !!
Hi Debbie. My feet get way colder now that it's fall. I use a small electric ⚡ heating blanket in the evening to help with it. I also use lidocaine 4% gel on my feet as well . I take 900 mg of gabapentin every 4 hrs from the moment I get up. I also use Ambien and melatonin to get to sleep and average 8 hrs each nite plus 30 naps after my am low impact workout and 30 min nap after my afternoon gym workout. These activities keep my blood flow good. I also use r alpha lipoic acid and Acetyl l carnitine and hoping to find the right dosage for my condition. Not all bodies are the same. Keep reading and experimenting till you find what works for you. John
I use gummies at 5mg, dare I say, a candy; vape 77-88% THC solventless or cannabis oil; and smoke flower with defined effects I want. They all serve a purpose but gummies I take daily for relaxation and they probably help me sleep better too. I vape before bed to relax and sleep 6-9 hours depending on other factors.
