@vandyms1974, My PMR is in remission but I often feel similar joint noises when rolling over in bed and getting comfortable. I think it has more to do with arthritis and old age than PMR. Not to say PMR and creaky bones can't be be present together. Here's an explanation:

"What do creaky bones mean?
This sound usually indicates that a muscle is tight, and is rubbing and causing friction around the bone, Dr. Stearns says. The sound also could be coming from tendons rubbing over the bone. In that case, try gentle stretching, and the snapping should decrease or disappear."
