I was in a rehab for 10 days after surgery where they pushed me too hard...3 hours of PT per day is a lot for a 70 year old.
The last day I was there I had very bad pain in my groin and it felt like I was sitting on a pile of assorted size rocks.
Lower leg feels like a tight ace bandage is around it too.
They told me I had a pulled muscle.
Made an appt with my orthopedist.
My ortho had me take multiple MRIs of my pelvic and lumbar and thoracic and an ultrasound.
The MRI of my lumbar showed a pinched nerve on my disc.
I live with chronic pain now for months since I left rehab. I’m reluctant to have PT again, as I’m afraid it will make it worse.
NO relief from doctor prescribed muscle relaxers, or nerve medication ie:
gabapentim, Lyrica.
My ortho is going to give me a cortisone shot in my spine to see if that helps.
Anyone with a pinched nerve in their spine have the same symptoms as me?
Terrible Knife like pain in groin and upper thigh?
Feels like there’s a pile of rocks inside my buttocks when sitting or lying down
Causing my leg to go numb

@bazzinga1234 I have that in both sides of my groin. More so on my left side now since my doctor tried a nerve block. Nerve block took away 1 of the shooting pain that went down my right leg to my 2nd and 3rd toe. Every so often, probably after a full day of activities, I get to deal with 2 days of extreme pain in my lower back and my neck in which I'm sure the neck is the one that gives me the extreme migraines. I get that knife pain in my groin and upper thigh during this time making it difficult to even walk. After fighting all day with ice packs and heat packs I then turn to using my prescribed pain meds which just knocks the edge off but it's still there. I've been sensitive to medications most of my life and more so now, sedatives is hard for me to wake from so no surgery. Because of this issue it is recommended to just maintain my pain levels.
Hopefully the shot will give you relief as it did nothing for me.
