Hi @njed, Thanks for starting this discussion. Hopefully other members with experience will add their thoughts, suggestions and experience with rehabilitation therapy for sensory motor PN. I'm actually thinking it probably would help PN no matter which type of neuropathy is causing the peripheral nerve symptoms.

I really didn't know the difference between physical therapy and rehabilitation therapy and had always lumped them together. I found this article explaining the difference that I thought might be helpful.

The Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy has a lot of good information that I think pretty much covers both types of therapy here:

Have you looked into a rehab therapy program for neuropathy?

John, I had torn rotator cuff surgery years back and after surgery, had to go to PT in order to restore, back to as close to normal, use of shoulder, full range of motion, etc. So, in my eyes, the PT was to get me back to where I once was. And, as long as you were showing signs of improvement, health insurance carries paid. I see the rehab as kind of seeing if you can improve on a disability and at the same time, provide a level of safety and confidence in living your life and not necessarily have a patient return to where they once were. I am just at the beginning of this and will let you know how I make out. I see my nuro doc late this month. And thanks for the links to articles. Helpful!! Ed
