@sakota If your friend needs repair but is not ready for the open chest surgery, she should definitely talk to her cardio about the non-invasive insertion of the stent in the artery. I suspect that requires little down time. I wonder what size her AAA is and how fast it is growing. I'm 74 in January and I hope to die from some unrelated issue in about 20 years or more. Or, if the AAA blows, so be it. It would be a fast way to go and hopefully without nursing home residence in the mix.

I like your attitude:future of 20 years of living joyfully and yet accepting a transformation that is sudden and causes least hardship. However consider that even if there is nursing care because of a illness, that is allowing others to express their kindness and allowing them to grow in compassion
