Hi

I’m new to this group and new to neuropathy. Mine is a result of intercostal nerve damage as a result of a mistake during surgery a year ago. The entire nerves systems are connected and one can lead to others. I’ve been prescribed for gabapentine for different issues. It’s on my allergy list. My response was awful. Mentally I was a nervous wreck and physically had tremors. I was recently recommended to take gabapenatal. 😳 A related drug. I had a really bad feeling about it. My physical therapist said her friend was on Lyrica, the brand name. She described herself as walking around like a zombie. I’m elevating my feet at night with pillows and use lidocaine topically. Works for me. I wish you luck with Rx. Listen to your body. See if you feel good about the drug. Blessings!

Welcome @gshfmb, Sorry to hear you had a bad reaction to gabapentin but happy you found an alternative that helps. If you haven't thought about looking for alternative or complementary treatments, you might want to check out the Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy website - https://www.foundationforpn.org/living-well/complementary-therapies/.
