I saw a Gastroenterologist when I was in hospital for the first acute pancreatitis attack. I met none of the criteria for the attack so the doctors thought it was a side affect of a drug I took (sulfasalazine). After stopping the drug, I had a second attack a year later and then the doctor did an ERCP test. It is a specialized test where the doctor can see inside the pancreas. The doctor discovered my pancreas had not developed correctly in the womb. Now I’m very careful what I eat, but so far no problems. 🤞🤞
Good luck.
Had acute pancreatitis attack & spent 3 days in hospital. VERY painful, and I mean painful!
All tests showed positive for it. I am still recuperating from it.... upset stomach, feeling very hungry,
eating small amount, then stuffed. Constipated, then diarhreea. I will have a procedure with a tube & camera
inserted soon, as no cause for this attack was indicated.
I am just trying to eat a low fat diet and also just small meals.
I have had all sorts of medical problems lately, bad karma I guess, as drs. have no answers. (isn't that a surprise!)
The pancreas is not an easy organ to have problems with. It seems as though it is in an awkward place in the body. As well there is no screening device or test for pancreatic cancer and multiple symptoms. My brother had generalized pain in the abdomen and a host of symptoms that seemed to be everything but nothing. He was finally diagnosed and treated for pancreatic cancer so any and all symptoms with abdominal pain should be considered suspicious. Hope that you can find answers to your problems.
Check for Pancreatic Divisium. It takes a special test. It took three years for doctors to find out my pancreas was malformed.
