My doctor wrote a letter to the pharmacist of his hospital explaining why I am a patient at risk, and requesting that I be allowed to receive Evusheld. For only two of his other patients did he think that was necessary. The injections were done in my Hematologist’s office where I could be monitored with blood pressure checks every fifteen minutes for an hour. Fortunately I had no reactions at all.

I had only a slight reaction to Moderna 2+2 injections. After Quest semi-quantifying blood tests my doc “felt” that my body had not responded adequately to build immunity. Possibly the lack of immune response was because I have IgM kappa MGUS.

I hope this response has been helpful and that you will stay well. I am being very careful to always wear an N95 mask when out and avoid being with groups of friends. Yes, missing much socially, but upon reconsidering others in our world, counting my blessings.
