Bonnie - it was easier to walk after the fall? That's interesting. Well I'm glad.

I wouldn't put off the second knee if you need it. I've had both of mine replaced within the last 5 months. The first one is nearly perfect. The second one was done July 11 and I'm struggling with stairs. But it's early. I'll stick to PT nd try to not over do it. One thing I read that was impactful - the healing inside goes on long after the incision has healed.

One suggestion - look into TKR with a surgeon who uses the Mako robotic assistance. "Robot" isn't a good term. A 3D picture of the knee is taken via CT scan and that is how the "robot" determines what to cut and where. It results in a more accurate surgery and prosthesis placement. I think it's fantastic.

And maybe get a second opinion form a Dr who uses Mako. Worth a try.
