We are new to diagnosis. You say cough less and have less mucus. We are under the impression that coughing is necessary to loosen and expectorate mucus. And that this would prove lifesaving. Are we incorrect? So much to learn.

While coughing from use of saline in nebulizers helps to break up mucus, it is found that NAC is a mucus-dissolving and anti-inflammatory agent that reduces the frequency of acute worsening episodes.
