I have had a chronic cough for 3 years and recently diagnosed with Bronchiectasis. None of the treatments have gotten rid of my cough. It affects many areas of my life including my sleep so I am always fatigued.
I am new to this exchange. I have had a chronic cough since 2015. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 1995, and in 2015 suddenly I ended in hospital with congestive heart failure, my mitral valve was prolapsed, and had severe regurgitation. I had my mitral valve repaired with open heart surgery. I have had what they call a chronic cough since. Sometimes I have wheezy chest, often my lungs sound clear they say. I have tried every med and puffer possible. They think my eyes have been effected by the steroids in the puffers. I am exhausted from coughing, nothing seems to help. My respirologist has run out of ideas. Any suggestions?
In reply to @totty….. I have bronchiectasis but have never had MAC/NTM’s. I nebulize twice daily with albuterol and 7% saline solution while wearing a smart vest. I have a chronic dry cough and regular bouts of excessive fatigue. The fatigue I manage by breaking activities into small steps and taking breaks. I do not nap so I can sleep well at night. I have the advantage of being retired now, but when I was working, I pushed through my daily schedule and collapsed until the next day. Fortunately, I did not develop bronchiectasis until after my children were grown up. I had enough struggles with chronic migraines since childhood, but did everything I could to give my everything to my kids❤️ Good luck in your journey😊
