I have had daily nausea for nearly 4 years. Have GERD and colitis for which I get remicade/inflimax infusions. Went to my Gastro and a surgeon who told me to get an esophageal manometry, which showed medium hiatal hernia. Also, had an endoscopy w/bravo that showed nothing abnormal. Got frustrated and sent all my records to Johns Hopkins Gastros. who told me to go to a motility clinic. Why and what is that? Ideas or other suggestions. Nausea is ruining my life. Thanks Mike

I know the feeling of nausea..trust me! I don’t know about Motility Clinics, but do have experience with treating nausea. What have you tried so far, including supplements ?

I go to a doctor that is a motility doctor he is Augusta medical Unv. His name is Dr. Roa Augusta, Ga

I was sent to the Motility Clinic at U of L in Louisville Ky.
Saw an ARPN who suggested an implant to trigger my stomach to empty. Sent me to a surgeon who did not even do this! They also sent me Quest Lab in Louisville
and had 13 vials of blood drawn.
Never heard from U of L . After around 6 months I messaged for results. The Motility doctor said it was all good. I have no idea if I was checked for gluten sensitivity, lactose intolerance or anything!
So I am still on the IBS C diet!
I am now on my 4th year, in pain most days, eating barely anything!
I went for PT and they were the only real help I have received!
I have a consultation scheduled for
a possibility of getting an endoscopy procedure to nip places in my stomach wall to allow me to eat “real” food again. This will be on Oct 10. So now I will travel from south central Kentucky to Maryland!! As it is now I really have no life!!!

He has helped me his office is very nice and he listened to what I tell him and if you are having issue’s you can call him and he call you back. Have had a lots of test
And has showed thing’s that were wrong I still have flare ups
But not as bad

The supplements I got my mom is called Gut Alive. It's on Amazon. She's been on it for two days and says she is feeling a reduction in the acid burn and she's been able to eat solid food today without vomiting for the first time in a week. I'll update as she continues to take the supplement. So far so good.

Hi,

I've had gastroparesis for many years and have seen multiple specialists. I live in Iowa and have gone to Mayo/Rochester and for my regular follow-up, I use Mercy GI in Cedar Rapids. I have an inflammatory component, so I'm currently managing with Prilosec and Linzess. No easy answers for this one and no real good ones. Having been on nutrition support, I prefer to manage with diet.

I cannot stress enough how much a probiotic has helped my gastroparesis. I take it with food and apart from medications if possible, about an hour apart.

I wish you the best.

I’ve had GERD, Esophageal Motility, Hiatal Hernia that gets fixed and returns, and Gastroparesis for years. Local Virginia hospital, Hopkins, Temple Gastro Diseases Unit. Still working on each part but I have had great success with a surgeon in Lurton, Virginia who has helped me thru the Esophageal Dismotility in the first few years and taught me how to deal with the GERD and HH issues. Unfortunately, a surgeon can’t be your daily GI doctor but I found a good one in Fair Oaks Virginia and he has me on 2 Dexilant a day, (and I use GasX for my silent nightly flare-ups); Florastor as a Probiotic, and I keep bowel prep stuff around for the constipation that can go with the Gastroparesis (when I’m not having IBS flares). Seem that what I’m taking is a hybrid mix of what everyone else is.
