What's outside of your picture window today?
As we get ready for the real winter to show up and COVID-19 still playing a major part in our lives I like to spend moments of my day de-stressing about what's going on in the world today. All I have to do is look out the window and observe some of natures beautiful creatures, how they interact and ponder how small it makes my troubles seem. Sometimes I may even get the opportunity to take a photo or two. How about you? Anything going on outside of your window(s) that you want to share?
For those members that have the ability to size your photos before you upload them to the discussion, may I suggest using the following sizes:
– 500 x 335 pixels (landscape)
– 210 x 210 pixels (square)

This is such an uplifting thread!
I look out my window, and watch hummingbirds zipping around their feeder. I see families of quails, doves, grackles, and an occasional woodpecker. Some are quiet and others make their appearance known in grand style. Every now and then I am privileged to spy a cardinal or a robin.
There are a few cotton tail rabbits around but the coyotes or the hawks get them.
Even though I live in a desert I have tall trees and lots of plants around. They help these critters survive our wicked summer. 🌵
@ess77 Haven't tried the hair clippings. Don't know that that will help. The deer wander through town like they own it, silly them! Even the elf wander through our streets.
My neighbor was bragging the deer had left all her garden and plants alone, then she came out the next morning to find her plants stripped, also. Her dogs slept through it all. So, she strung up dangly things on wires to deter the deer. I told her they will look nice with goo-gaws hanging from antlers ;)) So far, no more hits to her plants. We just roll with the punches around here, it is their home, anyways!

Wow Ginger, you're so lucky to have an elf 😻😸
Great that the dangling things helped, it is so nice to have plants and flowers, positive energy 💖
ooops! meant elk. Didn't catch the typo. I'll blame the meds.....
Ginger
Meds are there so we can blame them 😹
@ellamster, @gingerw, @sueinmn, @johnbishop, @SusanEllen66 and all....Well, folks, you all sound so good. You know, looking out the window is a pretty good deal for all of us, especially is we're dealing with stuff. Aren't we all??? Yep...
I need to fill my feeders, again! It's about ever other day I need to refill, and once weekly I clean. They're lucky I do it that often. Actually, that keeps all the baths and feeders and water jugs looking good and free of disease, I think. Seems to be a good schedule.
Well, I was too loud spouting off about not watering my orchids too much. When my son was here for several weeks needing my help, I might get a bit agitated or emotionally wrought....guess what I do? I putter. That means watering the downstairs inside plants, it's often too hot and uncomfortable to water the outside unless I must. So, that's exactly what I did. My 2 white orchids began dropping blooms about 2 days ago. I almost freaked!
The wonderful hot pink/red phaleonopolis is still in full bloom and putting out new buds. I missed adding the water to her, but the white ones' blooms are gone now. I'm sad. But, they'll dry out and rebloom.
The money tree leaves are getting too large for its space with the orchids and succulents. I have to find it a new home now, maybe soon a new pot. But, that's puttering for another day. This week I've been cleaning out my bedroom closets. I have 3 all full and I regularly clear them out. But, it's been a couple of years since I went through the process of going through
my clothes. I've recently lost about 30 pounds so this is a great time to tackle this job.
It feels so good! I tried on everything in one closet yesterday, another one today, and tomorrow will be the last. I still have so many jackets I wore for business and socially, but neither happens these days, so it's time to rid myself and my shoulders of these loves. Someone can enjoy them, or they get tossed. I did the bins/stacks-keep, donate, sell, toss. I'm actually throwing away clothing. Never done that before. Feels sooooo good.
I'm working with my son to help him do the same and install closet organizers for him. We're fitting his home for his life with physical limitations. That's a huge step for him, a sign of acceptance that's been a long time coming. At any rate, he'll be more comfortable and live a better life.
The pool therapy is helping me get some control over my body, for the first time in many years. That relaxation is life-changing. It's allowing me to get the needed exercise also, as I'm feeling better I'm more able to move in the water. I really recommend this therapy for anyone with pain from neuropathy, arthritis, fibromyalgia, spine pain, and more. It helps.
Good-night all. Be well. Be blessed. Elizabeth
I had a hawkishly close call on the way to coffee with the guys this morning. Happy for the hawk and even happier for my front headlight 🙂
Wow, @johnbishop looks like she was intent on getting to something!

It’s a lovely sort of hazy day here in the desert southwest. A light cloud cover is very much welcomed during the summer.
The hummingbird feeder is the hot spot for now. They like to chase each other away. It almost looks like a soccer game! Their antics are entertaining!
Have a happy, Friday and a blessed weekend. 🌻
Ginger, It really took me by surprise and I had to press the brakes pretty good. She swooped down from the left side of the road and was flying in the middle of the road when she saw me. I do think she was eyeing some prey in the ditch on the right side of the road. I might have to transfer some photos from my camera, interesting morning at the bird feeder.
