We are also looking for relief for terrible debilitating stomach cramps. My husband was in the hospital for 6 weeks then onto an Acute Care Hospital and then rehab to learn to walk again. He had Covid Pneumonia. I’ve also lost trust in doctors. He came home in March this year on oxygen and has now returned to work. Neither his cardiologist or pulmonologist and now the Covid rehab doctors at UTSW know what to do to help him with these cramps. He’s young, 47 years old was in great shape and no underlying issues pre Covid. He did loose 80 pounds during his hospitalization. Came home 6”4 at 160 pounds. Wondering if the rapid weight loss did something to his stomach to cause these cramps. Following for any suggestions! We’ve tried probiotics…

Try famotidine 40 mg, also known as Pepcid. Research seems to indicate that it works on GI inflammation caused by covid. He may need a two week dose of the IBD antibiotic which helped me. Research also indicates that probiotic pills can be harmful. Try food with probiotics instead like yogurt, kombucha, kefir, etc. Pepcid is really helping me. I had months of intestinal cramps and terrible heartburn that were not helped by antacids or meds like Nexium, but famotidine works differently.
