There is a natural and safe supplement that I take that soothes colon pain, gas, constipation , and diarrhea.
It is peppermint oil/ginger,fennel combo...its sold at cvs in the colon area marked " peppermint oil for ibs"... it is very soothing for the nausea and stomach pain.
Please ask your Dr 1st please though, even though it's just natural herbs. I don't want to be in conflict with what rx they give you.
Also...and this I know for a fact bc it's coming straight from my gi Dr....probiotics work big time...but you have to give them a good 2 weeks to take effect. High count...15 billion....multi strain...put in fridge once opened.
Also..yogurt..fermented foods.
Look up colon friendly diet. What we eat, or TRY to eat , which can be hard, is extremely important. We need to give our gi system a chance to heal...avoid all fatty foods....it hates them...avoid gluten..most people with gi issues can't break down gluten...even though they might not necessarily have celiac disease. I have chrohns disease...and was told to my surprise people with that can't break it.
Also...we become nutrition deficient...I take glucerna sent to me from my nutrition dept.at the VA. It's low in sugar, easy on the stomach, and gets those vites and protein back into u.
Yes...plenty of water too. Yes.
And ginger chews helps nausea 2.
I've thrown out all I can think of 4 now to try and help....I hope it makes a difference. Be well. Peace.
