Pancreatic Cystic foci are present, the largest in in mid pancreatic body measuring 12mm in size, demonstrating mildly lobulated morphology and very thin separations and additional Y shaped cystic structure along the posterior mid pancreatic body in close proximity measures 9mm long. A smaller cyst in the anterior mid pancreatic body measure 4mm. A smaller cyst in thew pancreatic tail measures 6mm. No evidence for solid infiltrative mass or abnormal main pancreatic duct. No evidence for acute pancreatitis or no evidence for pancreatic divisum

Not sure ABOUT This?

Hello @rexsan20

In your post you said, "Not sure about this." I'm not sure what you mean. Can you clarify?

There are several types of cysts that occur in the pancreas. They are being detected more frequently as the sensitivity and resolution of CT and MRI keep improving. If the description is from CT imaging, a surgical oncologist may order more specific imaging such as EUS, MRI or MRCP to try and determine the more specific type and risk factor.

Cysts can be benign, pre-cancerous or malignant. The specific type will determine a course of action from surveillance to surgical intervention. Cysts such as IPMN’s that occur in the ducts are generally benign in branch ducts. When occurring in a main duct, they can become problematic.

The last three sentences you wrote give the impression that no pathologies of the pancreas have arisen as of this point in time. A surgical oncology consult will go over any further diagnostic imaging, biopsy and surveillance recommendations.

What should I do? I am about to see another GI doctor in Savannah Ga. Still worried about the cysts? Is there a doctor at Mayo Clinic(Jacksonville Fla.) that specializes on the pancreas

What do I do? Not an answer from GI doctor about to go to another one
