Hello— I’ve now had Covid twice. (immunocompromised: — Lupus, PsA, AI Pancreatitis/EPI , Asthma). I’m considered a Long Covid patient— contracted the first case early 2020 & still have some ongoing issues. One thing that doesn’t get better is the body temp disregulation. I get sudden onset extreme heat intolerance. I get no warning. It happens periodically & day/night. It’s to the point that it’s so profound I sometimes have to quickly remove my clothing. But what’s absolutely terrible is the profound night sweats. This has been going on for over 14 months now. It wakes me up several times a night. Sometimes it’s my entire body—literally head to toe. I wake up drenched in sweat, and my body is hot to the touch. Even this past winter—when the night temps get to 20•, I turned the heat off, opened my bedroom window, had light covers on. No relief. It’s unbearable. Doctors here (NM) have performed so many tests. They keep saying that it’s not related to female hormonal changes & no obvious signs of Thyroid disease . (I have had significant vascular & neurological changes since Covid diagnoses.) They can’t figure it out. One suggested that perhaps it’s related to Long Covid. I’m just exasperated & need answers

I had COVID first on mid Jul 2022. I did not have much symptoms only fever, coughing and night sweat. I recovered within a week. Now suddenly on Oct 1 till today, I had night sweat about not much still waking.me up each night. What wrong ?

So weird me too! I never had COVID before this week! I have RA, had all 4 COVID shots. Last one made me so sick never again! Felt like a month of an RA flair. I have spinal stenosis in my cervical spine for years .
I also have hypersomnia , it’s a sleep disorder, similar to narcolepsy which my mom had.
Any way I’m almost 56, my mother would always laugh and say I don’t get why you never sweat!? I really hardly ever did! Then I hit I guess 51/52, and now it just pours out. It’s horrible and so annoying! I know it sounds like wow not a big deal sweating. But it SUCKS! Lol! I love to read and research things. I just read recently because I am having cervical spine surgery in February that when your spine is damaged in any way that can make you sweat and your body temps be off. I’ll let you know after surgery if it goes away? Not sure because I also read that a lot of damage from my stenosis like hand numbness/nerve damage most likey will still be there the doctor said because like the brain , the spine can be fixed but damage can not. I would rather the sweating stop then the numbness. I can’t stand it. Good luck to you

Same experience with Long Covid. Sweating worse at night, but sole of feet all the time. Unpleasant, for damp and wet pajamas' moisture dries in the dry winter air. Result is coldness and clamminess-- very unpleasant. Must change pajamas, interrupting sleep.

same for 5 Month got better by getting rid of disbiosis. Immun system started to work again. Beck to normal all the best from Switzerland

Thank you all for sharing your experiences. Since all the doctors know very little about COVID and nothing about long COVID, your experiences help explain some of the problems caused by COVID. I too suffer from long COVID. The first time I caught it was in 12/20. I have been diagnosed with COPD, and 7 thoracic vertebrae bulging, after coughing so hard. I also have intermittent sweating, tinnitus, weight loss, fatigue, and body vibrations. In 9/21, I caught a milder case of COVID. In the past 2 months, the sweating has been less frequent and severe, especially at night so far. The tinnitus has been less severe and I have actually had a couple of weeks of no ear noise after cleaning my ears several times. It's back, but not as severe. I found that holding my nose and blowing hard to equalize ear pressure can help a lot. The body vibrations has gotten better as well. I use to wake up most mornings around 3-4 AM from the sweating and body vibrations and stiffness. I have Fibromyalgia since 2010 and just felt that I was in a really bad flare for 2 years. My newest problem that popped up 2-3 months ago is facial hair growth, the peach fuzz has gone wild.

Long Covid symptoms come and go with me. But when I’m sick I wake up 2 times each night wet and need to change my clothes.

after my 3rd episode (last in July 2023),my night sweats are constant, often waking me up at 3-4 am with a wetnight shirt and shorts, even a damp bedsheet. My wife keeps asking if I feel well, and I do overall. I also have a persistent smell of smoky barbeque , and my taste for sour (like sour gummy worms) is gone. My original interstitial pneumonia in March 2021, took a month to recover exercise capacity, then the fall 2022 even was similar. I keep rying all the usual - turmeric, omega 3, fluticasone, daily exercise.

Yes, I have had long haulers symptoms for three years and eight months now. Got coronavirus nov 2020. Was not hospitalized, no fever, no lung issues, but very low energy and terrible brain fog for this whole time. I never dealt with temperature disregulation issues until recently though. Twice now I'll be cooking in the kitchen and get suddenly very overheated dizzy lightheaded. I take my clothes off sit in front of a fan and then I'm ok once I drink cold water. But ya I told my husband to help me remember from now on if I'm cooking to drink cold water beforehand because this is such an ongoing problem. I think it's just some part of the brain that got damaged during the active coronavirus infection. It really is like a traumatic brain injury almost in these areas mildly.
