Good evening @mkb53, Thanks for your friendly post. I certainly applaud your decision to stick with PT. At the age of 80, and with a commitment to doing whatever it takes to improve or maintain "quality of life" I chose surgery. And it is this week. Yikes!

Now to your question about medical cannabis. I started using a vape with a modest Indica strain in 2011 .....so that is a while ago. After cervical spine surgery in 2013, I learned to use tinctures and topicals so that I could give up the vape. My "teacher" was a retired surgical nurse friend. I even got her out of bed at 4 a.m. once because I was scared. That is the time I learned not to mix Jack Daniels Special Select, on the rocks, with medical cannabis.

For me, there have been no side effects or overdosing from using medical cannabis. The message I followed was this, "You can always have more. You can never have less".

Like you Mary, I am highly sensitive to medications, especially opioids, steroids, etc., etc., etc. The chronic pain of SFN (small fiber neuropathy) creates fatigue and seems to add emphasis to the frequently painful and discomforting conditions of aging.

Does this help? Anything else?

Please know that I am here for you.
Chris
