GI Disorder and Internal Shaking

Posted by gigiraj @gigiraj, Feb 15, 2019

Hi all. I'm a 21 year old South Asian female and I have been having GI issues for about five years--mainly along the lines of constipation. I do have bowel movements every day but it takes a long time & I am rarely fully cleared out. These GI issues are always accompanied by other health issues (gas, pressure in head, etc). Recently, some scary new conditions have manifested: In the past few weeks, there have been times where my heart starts beating wildly and very fast. Sometimes, when I'm tired and constipated, my entire body feels like its vibrating internally; the shakes aren't visible but it feels like all my muscles are quivering. At this point, I feel a constant shaking/quivering within my body, especially in my heart cavity.

I have had TWO EKG's and both came back normal. All lab tests for diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, etc came back within normal limits. I am very concerned about this internal shaking. My dad says he found something about how GI disorders can impact muscoskeletal system and since the heart is a muscle, it's contracting and being affected. But I wanted to know if anyone here can help!!!!!!! If anyone knows anything at all please please please let me know!!!!!

Hi! I’ve commented before on internal tremors. I’m still having them really bad. My internal tremors are now going all day and night. Can’t even sleep at night. Has anyone tried something to get rid of the tremors or at least get some relief? My B12 is low and I do get B12 shots weekly. I asked my rheumatologist about them and she said it was anxiety and to get some sleep! Omg really?????

loveofdogs, investigate sublingual Fast Melt Methylcobalamin. It gets in the blood stream quickly. Don't overlook thiamine. Magnesium is needed to activate it and vitamin D. Are you getting enough magnesium? Activated thiamine in turn activates B6. The B vitamins wotk better together. A form of thiamine, benfotiamine, offers advantages you may need to benefit from and can be used together with a B Complex. However, anti thiamine factors can diminish or destroy thiamine as listed in the stuttersence link. The critical part to also check out is the role activated thiamine has in the brain, vagus nerve and gut. Always consult your health care professional before using any supplement.

loveofdogs, fortunately I don't suffer from internal tremors. Over the years I have had interest in vitamins & minerals and in 1999 got a hot off the press copy of Dr. Atkins Vita-Nutrient Solutions. He didn't write it over my head and I began to understand nutrition in a straight forward manner. It's interesting that the thiamine and magnesium you are learning more about are woefully lacking in dog food. The consequences of this deficiency in their food results in many health issues and early death. I hope you have time to search on "canine brazil nuts cancer". My son got a Boxer as a puppy and I learned they often surcum to cancer between three and six years. I search for intervention and after learning about Brazil nuts she lived to be 13 and never had cancer or dysplacia.

I have the same issue. Taking vitamin B Complex daily (morning and night) and Magnesium Complex daily (morning and night and each time i experience tremors) helps to make the vibrations / tremors less intense and less frequent. An extended water fast and daily intermittent fasting addresses the underlying issue with my gut which also makes the shaking less frequent and intense.

Right now I only experience the shaking when my gut is busy digesting, usually at night. Massaging my stomach instantly relieves the tremors.

Why massaging would make them go away I have no idea? Maybe motility is the issue?

Wow @rjk this is really helpful! Just read your post from October 15th as well and the news about the diet is heartening, especially with such intense symptoms. I should try that out and see what happens. Just to reiterate for everyone---my heart is normal and I don't particularly get palpitations anymore. I've started moving around & getting more physical activity in. But the internal vibrations and finger twitching (which I posted about in another group) are still very much there. Parasthesia in my arms showed up again a few times in December, making it hard for me to sleep.

Just last week, I was barely able to sleep because I had internal vibrations all over my body....usually they have just been confined to my fingers. I was able to sleep just fine last night without them bothering me so I suspect it may have something to do with my period, last week, and the gas build-up that usually comes with that. The SFN sounds very plausible though. Literally all my problems seem to connect to my gut health, just like yours. I got a second blood test that tested my liver last week and will be seeing the results tomorrow---will update if it's abnormal.

Will look into SIBO!

(Just FYI---I'm trying to share as much information about my condition as I can so that people suffering similarly can see what matches. Sorry if anything is TMI)

I have also had internal tremors for almost 4 years now. Along my journey of trying to figure out why, I have been diagnosed with small fiber neuropathy by a neurologist and gastritis from an upper GI I had done. I also have seen a naturopath who drew a lot of blood. (much more than a regular doctor). Some of my B vitamins came back low or low normal (B12, B1, B2, B9 in particular). My vitamin C was almost non-existent! I also did a breath test that came back positive for SIBO which also correlates with the gastritis and chronic constipation I was having. We have come to a conclusion my gut is not working well due to SIBO and I'm not absorbing my nutrients. SFN can be caused by B12 deficiencies. I also have the MTHFR gene variant which causes me not to absorb regular synthetic B supplements that many foods are fortified with so I have to be on the Methyl B vitamins. I am starting on small doses of them as I am finding larger doses causes my SFN to worsen. I also did a course of herbs to kill the SIBO. I had recently read a thread of someone that internal tremors who took a B complex vitamin and it went away. I am hoping that with supplementation it will eventually go away. I have read it can take months though. If you want to have any labs drawn on your own you can go to requestatest.com and order any labs you want.

I read every comment hoping so bad someone figured it out.

I have finally figured out it is related to either food or the act of eating food. I went on a drastic diet no breakfast, lunch garden of life shake using water, and dinner rice w veggies and chicken. I lost 40lbs. My stomach shaking s stopped, my face tremors stopped, eating fatigue stopped but I still had the lower ab vibrations every few days. The last week I went off my diet and two days ago had a chicken taco with salsa and immediately noticed vibrations. Last night I ate a snack fruit pie at night and immediately got face tremors, upper stomach was shaking, today horrible internal tremors and vibrations and tingling in legs.

I have no idea what the cause is but I know now I can somewhat control it by what I eat and when I eat it.

Hi. I have the same issues and have been trying to find answers for a very long time. The one thing that I have recently realized is that when I have certain milk products or foods that contain milk ingredients (which is a lot of foods), the internal shaking seems to be worse for me. I am looking into a possible food intolerance as all other medical testings have come back negative.

This was VERY helpful! I was 90% sure myself that, that was the problem with me also! Now I'm sure it is! It's crazy how many reactions you can have from GI issues!!

I also have the same ! I'm recovering from functional stomach disorder, using a lot of vitamins, probiotics and certain diet. When I'm adding dairy after two days it starts the tremor, it gets worse if I insist on eating dairy or with certain dairies. Thank you for sharing, because I couldn't confirm it somehow else!

I also have internal vibrations. Notices that it seems to relate to acid levels in my stomach as mine seems to settle down if I take gaviscon. I was diagnosed with h pylori but had to discontinue quadruple therapy after first day due to side effects.
