No, but I certainly have a lot of sinus infections. Usually have to take a round of antibiotics? I asked my Infectious Disease Doctor today if we can get MAC in the sinuses and she said rarely.

When I had chronic sinus infections some years ago, the ENT had the nasal secretions cultured twice, and it never came back with MAC. Once it was a streptococcus, another time pseudomonas. Both took multiple courses of antibiotics, and I was never fully cured until I had sinus cavities and septum repairs.

My thoughts are that if I have MAC in my lungs I probably have it in my sinuses. ( Even though I 've never had my sinuses swabbed to see if MAC is growing there)
I'm currently diagnosed with MAC but not doing any treatment with medications due to side effects in 2019 MAC. My sister who gets frequent sinus infections and bronchitis uses sinus rinses and flonase. ( we both have allergies)she does not have MAC. She claims that a sinus rinse and the flonase really keep the sinus infections and bronchitis away.. since I"ve been using the sinus rinse ( Neti-pot) daily and flonase I believe I have kept the staph infection in my lungs at bay. My pulmonologist has said that post nasal drip will not cause staph,MAC, or pseudonomas. I don't see how this can be the case. I feel that is probably how I am getting these three bacteria in my lungs. ( MAC, and frequent staph and infrequent pseudonomas)
Any thoughts?
