Just joined the 70s club last year and adjusting to a different lifestyle having to gauge what my limits are more than earlier. Looking for new opportunities as I venture on - still on the job consulting partly full time! Ready for some Revenge Travel.

Welcome @wms, I'm with you on looking for new opportunities in this adventure we call life. I think that is part of keeping us going vs the alternative. It's good to hear you are still on the job consulting. I'm fortunate enough to have retired from 2 different jobs and got most of my travel out of my system in Uncle Sam's Navy. Now I'm happy to just be able to make day trips around the state to enjoy what's close - lots of small town celebrations.

What's on your bucket list?

I am going to brag about one of my 70-something best friends here...she is busy focusing on what she can still do, and reinventing herself in the process.

Last August she lost her husband and best friend of 53 years, but we managed to convince her to still join us in Texas for the winter. They always traveled/camped together, and we often met for adventures in the Midwest in summer. She wants to continue to travel - but independently, not sharing our car & camper.

She sold her big truck and travel trailer to purchase a tiny house near us in Texas, so...yesterday she sent us a picture of her new tent, which she set up herself under her daughter's supervision. She has equipped it with cot, mattress, sleeping bag, lantern, battery operated cooler, and a bed for her Beagle! Now we are scheduling our first trip in 2 weeks. After the "shakedown" she plans to make solo trips to New York & maybe Washington state. If all goes well we will make a Southwestern adventure tour together next summer.

All this in spite of a limited budget and numerous health issues. Now, that's what I call taking lemons and making lemonade. I'll report back after our adventure, which will include between 14 and 20 people from 2 to 75!

Me, too--this year. I took a trip to Italy/Malta with tours and had a transformational time. I was a bit worried about energy, but made it just fine. It was so great to see WOW things everyday. I did not go with my partner due to his mobility issues, but plenty of people in the group to hang with.
