I am very new to this site as well. I have what you have left and right, tiny amount in finger tips both hands. I am learning how to live with this and now placing more emphasis on living the best I can and not spend so much time trying to pin down the cause. Oddly enough, every doc asks if I'm a diabetic, I am not. My symptoms mimic the neuropathy of a diabetic. Agree, not much can be done at this time.
Quick note to John - thanks for the link and yes, you have the exact product. My medicare policy covered cost, they are expensive but help a lot - takes about 2 weeks to become comfortable wearing them. Now I wear them 12 - 14 hours a day. I' ve had them for 2 years.
I think prescription required.
Hi, I have a very similar condition as you. Do you take Gabapentin? I take Gabapentin 900 mg
2x per day. Also what is "walk-on flex"? I am 79 and 1st discovered this condition about 45 years ago. It started with some numbness in both lower legs and feet and has progressed to where I have a hard time balancing. Thank you in advance for your response.
Hello Chuck,
Like you my balance is compromised due to PN. I am taking Tai Chi from a highly skilled teacher who breaks the poses into their component elements. He uses motion to help us feel the movement in greater detail. I think this is helping my balance. Also, I found Dansko shoes. They are a Scandanavian shoes that gives me a greater sense of the ground. The shoe is highly structured and I think its sense of stability has saved me from a couple of falls. I uses to think a shoe with a sparse sole would be best but now my opinion has greatly changed.
Welcome @roslyn, I try to strengthen the muscles in my legs by different exercises along with riding my recumbant cross-trainer for 30 to 45 minutes 4 or 5 days a week. I think it helps me maintain some of my leg strength. Here are a couple of different articles that may be helpful:

Thanks for the info, I will ask my chiropractic about it. I also have a dropping foot due to chronic sciatica. I don't elect surgery as an option. I know it will not be completely healed. My L4 has slipped under L5, 2 herniated disc's, stenosis and bursitis in hip. This pain has been so intense I wanted to die. Peace to you

Greetings Chuck
My shoe is the Paisley Milled Nubuck. It is just plain navy blue without any Paisley. Unlike the clog my shoe sole bends with my foot. The whole foot is securly placed in the shoe with shoestrings. Hope this is helpful. Kathy
Got a brown's gas machine coming for my sfn. Got the aquacure unit from eagle-research.com Use code cowan for 20 percent off. Go to YouTube and punch in browns gas for health. Let you all know how it works. It was 2k after discount. It's suppose to help with healing nerves and pain and healing the body as a whole.

Have you tried doing different exercises to build your leg strength?
What Dansko shoe do you wear, the clog?
