I did not have a OncotypeDX done. From the start my surgeon said he did not think I’d have to do Chemo or radiation. After the surgery when I saw an oncologist, they said know chemo or radiation but just Anastrozole. Later after being on this forum I asked my oncologist- Why no Oncotype test … 🤷‍♀️ I’ve forgotten what he said. It was my understanding it was a test to determine chemo/radiation. No mention of reoccurrence regarding the Oncotype test.

Darn! It bothers me when I read of yet another doctor being ill- or under-informed. I can only hope and pray that people become more self-defensive and proactive about medical concerns and treatment issues and choices. Caveat emptor, clients. A doctor's fee is just like any other commercial transaction and you are the buyer.

My insurance company is good about sending a survey about any new doctor I see and the questions are thoughtful and valuable. I spoke with someone in the survey department who said they actually pay attention to the answers and notify doctors who get superior recommendations from patients as my PCP does.
