Denise,

"doing" supplements may not help your condition - many want to believe various products that are unprescribed by medical professionals will be helpful. Much of this is the result of marketing by supplement companies, youtube and book writing doctors, and from online support groups.

Please get a second opinion from another cardiologist, have full testing completed - and determine what you do.

The basics are always the same - don't be overweight, exercise, eat a proper diet - and, listen to your cardiologist and gp.

Plus (of course) do not smoke - and if you do, quit.

Niacin is a helpful supplement to manage blood lipids - as long as it doesn't lead to excessive flushing. Do not think there is much if any controversy about this supplement.
