Burning Feet syndrome

My legs can’t stand to have anything touching them. I have to wear short shorts in the house every day. Winter or summer, I wear shorts. The bed sheets and blankets irritate my legs and cause a burning pain. By midnight, I wake up and most of the covers are off of me. When I go out, a full skirt helps more than slacks. If I have to wear slacks, I endure the pain.

Please give the cold laser light therapy device a try(Amazon from $105-160, I bought the one for $129) The chiropractor was doing this for me, but, my co pays were costing $50 a visit, 3 times a week, now I do them at home. I do 10 minutes on each foot ( I put the device inside my flip flop with the handle in first and the unit facing up. It really helps take the pain away and my feet are less sensitive. I know the pain you are experiencing because me and my 2 sisters in law had the same thing happening. I also used to use a cream (Amazon) called Neuropathy and that helped too before I found the laser. I did the research before I went to the chiropractor. And if you do not like the laser or you don't feel that it is worth the money, you can send it back. I hope that this will help you.

I have a blanket lifter that holds the bedding off my feet for the same reason. I've had to start taking my socks off when I sit in my recliner because it flares up my burning feet. It began with the balls of my feet, then moved to my toes, and most recently it's up to including my ankles. I'm sorry you're feeling that pain in your legs. It's hard to imagine what that feels like.

Sometimes when I put lidocaine cream on my feet they hurt enough less so I can go to sleep. I found Uber Numb on Amazon for a tenth of the one my neurologist prescribed. Medicare removed it from their list of covered meds, so I wouldn't be able to afford the brand name product.

I wonder if there's a numbing spray. I remember using it in the hospital - I think it was called Hurricane. It really did the job.

It sounds like you're finding ways to make it through the pain. We become creative and have to think outside the box to get relief.

Ahhh yes, I too have gone through this. Is yours because of sunburn feelings or just overall irritation? I'm sorry you have to endure it. One of the many examples the disease is so bizarre and unpredictable. My odd feelings and sensations have settled a bit since last year but now jeans are off the table. I wear mostly athletic pants for loosness and comfort. I went through the shorts period too but luckily that has subsided and hopefully it will for you as welI. I have changed out my shoes, socks and clothing to adjust to my needs.More reasons why I refer to SFN as being layered.
