I only have 1 kidney (other removed w non cancerous rare tumor). I can’t use a lot of pain meds, creams, etc. Tylenol careful with but can use. I’m 8 months out and back
In PT. I have stiff knee feel like may have a pinched nerve on outer part of left knee. Have X-ray every 6 weeks at follow up. I’ve wondered how you know if the replacement is wrong size? I can’t get up from sitting without using both hands to lift myself. I have to just stand a few seconds before I can walk. I do stretches at home along with other exercises but knee gets stiff when sitting or sleeping. The pain keeps me from getting good sleep at night. Any suggestions that have helped others appreciated so I can ask my doctor about them first me.
Welcome @mpirruccel, Sorry to hear you are still experiencing a lot of pain all around the knee after a year since your knee replacement. It sounds like the doctor thinks the pain is due to a damaged nerve. I hope the nerve ablation provides relief from the pain. I used an exercise bike after my TKR and still use it for 30 to 45 minutes a day for 4 to 5 days a week. It really helped with my knee. You mentioned you used to cycle 100 miles a week but now 40 and then you have more pain. Do you do other leg strengthening and flexibility exercises in addition to the cycling? Are you scheduled to have the nerve ablation soon?
